fictionfactor/w00t2.gif I'm so excited!!! fictionfactor/w00t2.gif

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince comes out in four more days!!!!

Am I obsessed with Harry Potter? I'm rather proud to state that I am! But if I couldn't obsess over fantasy where would I have my fun? I'm not going to be an "adult" for another few weeks so I'm going to enjoy my chilish excitement while it lasts! Yay! But, just in case, anyone else out there counting the days like me? Come on...I know you're out there somewhere! Who's with me? (Personally, I hope my brother's theory is correct and she brings Sirius back because that was the single most pathetic death scene I have ever encountered in my life...and she gave it to my favorite character!! I am still not over that. Gr!)

Anyone wish to join me in the partying? *holds glass up high as though proposing a toast* To the Boy Who Lived!

Are you "Sirius"? fictionfactor/biggrinsmiley.gif (It's closer to three and a half days here til 9am on the 16th! Hehe!) I have to count the days... and the hours... my son is making sure of it! I printed the cover for him and presented it (with an IOU) for his birthday on July 1st. (As much as I'd love to read it before him and his sisters do, he gets first dibs... bugger! Oh, um, I mean, I must read it, in the name of research and the such... seeing as I am an adult already... But I get 2nd dibs! )

<holding glass high> I'm with you. And I think my husband is even more excited. He doesn't read anything longer than instuctions for putting something together, and I can't stand that. He has a great imagination and would like to write children's books, but not badly enough to actually sit down and do it. By not reading, he's missing so many other worlds, so sometimes we turn the TV off and I read to him. As soon as we've finished the latest Potter book, he's already dancing around, anticipating first the movie, then the next book.

Can you imagine:
1. The pressure on Rowling to deliver a book that we will all love as much as the preceeding ones?

2. What it's like to know that on the day your book is released that literally half the WORLD will be sitting around reading it that same night? (Wonder what that does to the TV ratings?) How I'd love to be in her Jimmy Choo's!

That's not fair! (Wait, who said it was? Shut up stupid voice in my head!) I want to live in Austrailia!!!!

Since I got first dibs for Order of the Phoenix, my brother gets Half-Blood Prince first (which is just not cool, since he also got Goblet of Fire first too...although I suppose it's okay since my sister and I will be out of town camping on the 16th)

And I am proud to be a Sirius fan! I am the real life manifestation of Padfoot!

Anyway, if Sirius doesn’t come back, I’m going to be furious with J.K. Rowling!! I’ll….

….

I’ll send her a Howler!!!!
YEAH!
But really, I agree with White Lady. He has the most pathetic death scene ever!!! It just annoys me to no end.

fictionfactor/birthday1.gif fictionfactor/w00t2.gif I'm so excited! fictionfactor/w00t2.gif fictionfactor/birthday1.gif

It'll be weird, though, with Fred and George not being in Hogwarts.

And There'll have to be a new Quidditch team as Harry and Ron are the only ones left...

fictionfactor/jumping-smiley-017.gif fictionfactor/w00t2.gif But I'm really, really, REALLY excited for it!!!!! fictionfactor/w00t2.gif fictionfactor/jumping-smiley-017.gif

Did I say anything about being a grown-up? fictionfactor/bleh.gif

I may be fully developed... but I sure aint growed up! So there!! fictionfactor/action-smiley-075.gif

I'm with Hobbitlass - re-reading the previous books - so that everything flows nicely in 2 and a half days time (yep, Australia has its benefits!). I reckon I can sneak the book away at night and when the kids are at school next week... (it's winter here and the kids just completed 2 weeks of school holidays). Mwhahahahahahaha!! It's mine!!

I have a good old fashioned WWMW with a nitro switch for those really intense chase scenes. Oh and no catalytic converter. Can't sky write with one on!

I concur! It's against all highest principal to reveal the secrets of Harry Potter to the literate world before they've had the blessed opportunity to uncover for themsevles the mysteries that lie within. (I'll shut up now and stop rambling pointlessly...)

Three days, 72 hours and 42 minutes...(nope, not obsessed enough to count seconds...actually, I'm too lazy to count the seconds. That was for the Extended Edition of The Return of the King)

I just started working for a big chain bookstore with an ampersand in its name, and I just need to say that I'm glad my store wasn't open in time for this book's release. I went through two movie premieres. I did not want to go through a book premiere.

After Book Five and the fact that I first read "Sorcerer's Stone" when I was 14 and I'm now 20, I'm not as excited as you guys are. I'm waiting for one of my friends to finish the book so I can borrow it from them. Or the store if they let us borrow it when the shipment finally arrives.
