My sister is old-school. She has a lap-top but sometimes she likes to write things out. For me, I'm trying to upgrade my computer by convincing my sister to give me her old lap-top.

Wow, Celtic Memories, sorry but your idea is not unique. Ever since I was seven, I've been doing just what you talk about, and now I turn those cute little fantasies into (I find) wonderfully entertaining stories. Another method I use is ffing, or rather FanFicing. I never do normal fanfics, so I tend to invent new stuff, which I later find can be part of a stand-alone series. I never write oneshots... oops, there's my FF background talking. I mean I rarely write singel stand-alones for fantasy/sci-fi stories.

Anyway, letting a scene run rampant in your head is one of the best ways to get in the zone(for me), even if you use very little of the original scene.

I guess this is sort of late, but I never seem to find forums that are as active as my first one, so most of the topics are a few day old. Oh well.

And the river of the mind runs free
Leaves nought in its wake but serenity
From a slient spring of transluscent sheen
Slip silver songs of crystal carved
By the hand of water's queen

Definitely! Summer is a great opportunity for me to dive into my writing world, since schools usually takes up most of my time during the other seasons. And since I don't really like going out, I have plenty of time to write and write and write...

I have the time to write, and I should really use it. I have no social life, so it's not like I'm busy doing things with friends. However, I've been struggling with my Muse lately. Maybe getting a routine would help. I procrastinate too much, and then tell myself I should work on necessities (finishing my summer reading homework and practicing my trumpet) first...

I probably should just write and not worry whether it sounds good or not. There's always revising and editing. I just need to get the words out of my head.

God I hate Paolini. His writing sucks, It's to predictable. It has lots of flaws and is a copy of the best movies ever made....aka Star Wars.

As for getting my 'into the zone'. I find just reading a book that I enjoy that I haven't read before helps. It's winter here now and it's holidays so I'm home all day. If I'm 'in the zone' I'll spend hours alone in my room. Nearly always in complete darkness.

History has a way of repeating itself, doesn't it?
