E-Book publishing is in some ways a lot like pulp writing was in the 1930s-if you write fast and can churn out the yarns at a good clip, you can make some decent money at it. My good friend Janrae Frank has better than a dozen e-books with Renaissance E-Books - www.pageturnereditions.com - and more coming out all the time. Unlike traditional publishing, every time a new book in one of her series comes out, her back catalog also takes a bump as folks new to the series pick up the previous volumes. They're always in print, which is not the case with trad publishing. So, her quarterly royalty check grows exponentially with each new book. It's still not enough to live on, but she's getting there. If RenBooks ever gets around to publishing the book they've contracted for with me, HOWLING IN THE PARK, I should start down that same road before long.
