I risk sounding ignorant, but (hey, I'm on summer vacation and I just graduated from a school that made me read the stupid newspaper every day to see what was going on in the world. Lately I've been concentrating on what's been going on in MY world *that is, to say, the fantastical worlds of my novel* and the wild world of Taco Bell.)...what exactly happened in London recently? fictionfactor/oops.gif

A couple months ago I went to New York City with my class for the senior trip. One of the places we stopped at was Ground Zero. It's interesting, everywhere else in the city you can find horrible graffitti, but there it's all paying tribute and respect for the people who died, or cursing the terrorists responsible. Also, the only remaining part of the Twin Towers is a metal...thingy (can't remember what it is at the moment, I'm tired, leave me alone)...that was found in the shape of a cross, which I rather think is poignant.

One of the things I really don't understand about terrorists is how they can do such horrible things and not feel any of it. Are they so brainwashed and desensitized that it doesn't matter to them anymore? (Actually, don't get me started on the subject of brainwashing...grr!) If that's the case, would talking to them really make a difference?

(And this is why I stand true to my motto: people don't like logic, it makes too much sense. When did killing anyone ever solve anything? Oh! That's right...never!)
